Don’t tell Varg Vikernes…

I never knew this until now (and I’m betting that some of my readership didn’t, either), but apparently there is a traditional Norse stave church in Rapid City, South Dakota. It’s appropriate that such a structure should stand in the upper Midwest, given the influx of Norwegian immigrants into the region during the 19th century. It is quite a spiffy piece of architecture, to boot.

The church goes by the name of Chapel in the Hills.
